I don't think so, these from LOR are just being released during this sale. Along with the CCP Cosmic Color Pixels.

Holy moly are the LOR floods and pixels expensive. You could get the same thing from China for 40% of that. The floods we are having in the upcoming group buy look to be far more powerful and self-contained.

The prices for the legacy products look to be just slightly higher than in sales years past.

Al, your problem here is you know too much about similar but competing products. So do I. A couple of years ago we both would have been alivating over those prices. Those prices really aren't too bad if you don't mind paying for the convenience of having an easy source of a proven product and don't know much about controllers.

Yep, you hit it on the head. Deb asked what I was buying and when I told her nothing she was surprised. LOR makes good stuff though, I just need any of it. I think the proliferation of DIY stuff this past year may have tempered other people's needs too.

I kinda like their pixel controller. Very simple and ready to go for someone who is not technical and does not have much help/support (like we have here). You could make a 10 to 12 foot mega tree. Each one of these would make 4 runs - - up and back down with each string. So 4 of them would be a 16 slice RGB megatree. Pretty incredible for $800, including controllers. 1200 channels and spectacular effects with no more effort than writing the check. The effects from Nutcracker would be the bomb.

I have not looked into the setup for the pixels but hopefully you can do the "flip" in the middle of each string (like the E680 and E681) .... so the addressing is the same direction on all slices.

I also think an RGB megatree might have a great effect by only being about half of a circle or slightly more. So 16 slices in the front is pretty nice with RGB bulbs. If you look at the effects on the Nutcracker site, he's only showing half the tree anyhow. I have also read on other sites that if you put text or video on a RGB tree, you need to blank out or dim down the back anyhow, so it does not conflict with the front. I like the idea of a half tree with RGB pixels ..
    Thanks,

Don't be clicking against me now! LOL I'm just gonna buy 1 assembled pc board for a backup. That'll give me 10 controllers and 2 CCRs, that should hold me over until November.
