    Default Controller boxes

Ok, so now that we can't easily get more of those boxes from YourBroadbandStore.com, it would figure I need one. Any idea where I can get one more? What are we going to do about getting more in the future?

Roger, You can always improvise in a pinch. Last year I used tupperware containers with no problems. You can also buy metal ones at lowes and HD, kinda pricy though. This year I found some old fire alarm enclosures for free. They are very well built, I just had to replace the door seals with weather striping.

Where did you find the fire alarm boxes? I'd love to get a few of those.

I wouldn't mind one myself. I was @ Skycraft this weekend... None. I might've found another vendor for enclosures, tho... I'll advise...

I order metal enclosures from this place. A metal enclosure is about twice the money.

YBBS has not closed yet. They are still taking telephone orders for the boxes.

Due to a "recent surge" in sales, they will keep selling the boxes "for a while longer".

    John,
Can you tell me who you talked to and when you talked to them? I just called, and spoke to a guy who wasn't very helpful, and wasn't really all that willing to take an order. He advised that they now have a 25 piece minimum, and that ordering less than that was a recent 'promotion' that has now expired. When I asked why this all changed, he cut me off quickly saying that there isn't enough of a customer base to support selling to the public.

    This is REALLY frustrating......

Had to dig my notes at the office today.

Got lucky again Monday Nov 29 and Rachel answered the phone. I had talked to her before when I had ordered and she was always very helpful.

I suspect that this situation could change again at any time, as Arris is shutting down the YBBS small order dept and just going to concentrate on the larger $250 minimum orders and discontinue the free shipping also.

Don't know if Dec 1 was the magic shut down day or not, just passing on what I was told on 11/29. Of course the original shutdown was 11/24 but it got extended for some period of time, a day, 2 days, a week? Don't know.

Did she cost you $2.99 per minute?

He's a repeat customer so it was $1.99 per minute... But they only needed to talk for 30 seconds...

If your only needing 1, I think I may have an extra cg-2000 (not sure about part number, shallow square one)

Also a guy at DIYC is looking at stocking them, but the cost will be just a tad higher than YBBS. As far as I know he hasn't took the plunge yet.

I'll be interested to see if he does. I think I'm covered for the missing box, and I appreciate the offer, but as I build MORE ( I NEED MORE CHANNELS!!!! BWAHAHAHAHA!!) I'm going to need more boxes... and apparently a circuit or two for my lighting!
