Looking for some advice

My wife wants a netbook and I was looking for some real world recommendations for some and any advice on what to look for or to avoid. I've been looking through the internet and most reviews appear to be biased toward whatever brand they are selling. Any thoughts or advice would be appreciated.

I love my iPad. Except it doesn't play the flash videos that William posts to this site...

I currently use an Acer model ZG5 which is also Aspire Series One. We use this for our computer business and I am actually using it to type this reply.

We have been pleased with it. The 10" is probably easier to view than the 8.9".

Thanks for the info, I liked the way duke's suggested spot layed everything out without pushing one over another.

Al, I already have one of those, It took quite some time to find the pink one my daughter wanted for Christmas last year. She lets me hold it occasionally but just to see her latest creation, she's keeps talking about me not adding lights to it or something like that. I have no idea what she's talking about.

I have an Asus Eeepc 1000HE. Works great. I upgraded it to win7 from winxp and have not found any programs that would not run on it. But I mainly use it when I am out at customers or traveling and don't need the power and screen size of my older and much larger and heavier laptop. The 1000HE has always received good reviews. Got it in March 2009 when the model first came out.

While I really like a netbook, just make sure of what your intended use is and that you can live with a much smaller screen. Keyboards are smaller, but fairly easy to get used to on a 10" screen model, but smaller screen models can have smaller keyboards. Netbooks are not a machine you use for graphic creation / video editing, but will play stuff back fine. Netbooks are a really great tool for surfing, email, and word processing with great portability. Also remember there are no built in CD/DVD drives so you will need an external USB drive or be comfortable with network connections to get software installed.
