I have watched this video and I must tell you that I like his approach. The only things that I am not clear on is taking that piece of regular size notebook paper and getting it converted to an engineer's drawing at the size that we want to build the wireframe? Where would one get that done? Also, sounds like you need to be able to weld a bit and also be able to draw to some degree to make it look nice and something that you would want to put out in your front yard and put lights on it. I personally would love to do a musical band myself. I know that someone did it a long time ago as part of their display but I think that it would be cool to be able to do such a thing.

I have heard of people using small overhead projectors to "amplify" the drawing to a larger scale. There are portable usints sold on eBay that would probably work. Here's an example:

3M The Five O Eighty Eight Portable Overhead Projector | eBay

With this unit, you could project your small drawing onto a board or large posterboard, and trace the object. The downside of using this type of projector is you have to draw or copy the small scale picture onto a clear transparency. But there are also types of projectors that will project a printed page from paper. These typicall cost more, just for the projector .. here's one:

Canon re 650 MK II N Video Visualizer Portable Digital Presentor LCD Projector | eBay

Then you would use a small presentation type projector to shoot the image. Just like the little projectors we use at the TASL meetings.

We have ideas for things we'd like to do this year, and not being able to find the plans we want, we've bought an "Overhead Projector" a couple of months ago to get the size we want.
