Default Add CCR to this years display its easy

OK I have figured out how to incorporate the CCR into my Christmas sequences...

I have set up the CCR using 150 channels 50 per color... Normal config setting... Sequential RRR GGG BBB and not Triples RGB RGB RGB.

With this setup you program just like we have in the past... Do not worry about colors right now... Just sequence for Red, Green or Blue.... Cut and paste what you have already sequenced. Most of my display is set up in multiples of 4s.... The Star I had last year had 8 arms... I just pasted what I sequenced last year for the star and pasted the REDs for the Star to the first 8 pixels or rows. Then repeat till you fill all red channels. 5 times I think... You will have Channel 49 and 50 the odd ones... I just repeated the first 2 rows...

I have always used red green and blue strings of lights... I did the same for my Greens and Blues.... When I played it back I had some cool effects and colors. I have also taken the first channel of the Star and repeated it 6 times the the second channel and repeated it on Channels 7,8, 9, 10, 11, 12. Do the same for the rest of the channels till all 50 channels are filled.... It gives a different result from the same portion of last years sequence...

I want to say one thing... The CCR is a wonderful device to produce some beautiful transitions... Really mesmerizing to watch. Reminds me of when I built my first light organ.

I have 5 sequences to share but can only get 2 to up load...

I hope this will help some get their CCR up and running...

Awesome Mel. I am curious how all this contrasts with their "canned" macros where you can control the full resolution using only 3 channels (at least according to their spec sheet). I gotta come by to see that little <BIG> 16 foot Cosmic Color Ribbon ..

Thanks Mel for sharing your sequences. I haven't had a lot of time to work with them this year, I do have two of them on my porch columns running a standalone annimation.

I'll study yours to get some ideas for next year. Thanks again.

The way I have it set up it is just cut and past... Just think of Red Green and Blues... Next year we will have the tools to do the fancy colors and blends...

If you have one of the songs I have shared and you used it last year I think all you have to do is past the CCR sequence into your sequence and the timings should be close...

And setting the Hardware Utility config as I stated and you are a 50 channel Red controler... Use the same fades twinkles just like we have always done things... Then you have a string of Green lights of 50 channels the same way... If you have a mega tree paste the mega tree sequence over and over till 50 channel are full... Thats it... trying to do the macros will drive you crazy.... My way you have aready done the sequencing now just paste it in...

As soon as I can I will....

Some weekend in the near future maybe getting together at my house or Starbucks and I can very quickly have anybody with a CCR up and running... Go ahead and setup what decorations you know works then we can get the CCRs up and running later... Seriously it is that easy to do...

What software is good to record directly from the screen to the hard drive? So I do not have to set up a camera..

    Philip

The channels are 1 to 150... Are you using the latest version of LOR? I just downloaded the sequences and it shows all the channels with numbers...

Ok, thanks. I "upgraded" to W10, and it reset all my settings, so I didn't have an extension option.
