This will work, but each time somebody calls it will trigger the next song. Making it place the requests into a cue is another matter. I am at a loss.
Al and I talked about this briefly a while back.
What I'm wanting to do is make the show interactive by using a telephone interface to control the songs. Users would hear a greeting then make a selection. After the selection is made, a relay would close the correct input then the song will play.
Here's what I've come up with so far...
Relay: http://www.blackbox.com/Store/Detail...Controller/RC3
Nothing on the greeting so far to interface the relays together.
Any suggestions?

If you find a way to make that actually select songs, there's one on eBay for "make offer" See auction 250537895103
Seems like you need something to collect the call-in votes. Tabulate the winner .. then select the winning song. American Idol might have some available gear after this year's show.
Thanks,

To stop people who are not there from calling is to have a 4 digit pin that is displayed out front of the house... And give the caller an approx wait till request is played... Use the caller ID info to broadcast the requester's "Name" on your radio station. Maybe get Kevin involved and have an interactive voiceovers too... Kevin Says "Our next Christmas musical is being brought to you by...”caller ID name” …Or If you get scared its not my fault it’s “Caller Id Name”….
When the que is too long no pin numbers are posted... It would be self working... And amusing to hear the callers name broadcasted..
William,
Did you see this thread, a LOR member developed a telephone software interface software thats lets users select the song they want to hear from a menu on their cell phone screen

this is a software rather then hardware based approach though.
I think a couple of years ago Michael Farney did something similar with some hardware. Just found the link:

The hardware you linked to, controls 3 relays for $160. This one lookes similar and controls 4 relays:

I can do something similar with my Homeseer Home Automation Control server, have it remotely send X10 commands to control lights throughout the house, but never considered adapting it for LOR control. Could easily have the Ocelot send X10 commands to trigger relay inputs on the LOR though.

Good find, AL
Looks like the IVM Answering Attendant software is on sale until March 15.
Then add some PHP code, and have an incoming voip phone line, and you would be ready to go.
