Default The Singing and Dancing Pumpkins

I shot two videos of the pumpkins for my Halloween display. I used servomotors to drive the movement. I gave a presentation on this topic at our TASL meeting. My servomotor design is similar to the presentation. One of the pumpkins on the lower level has a pan/tilt servo which allows him to nod as well as turn. The videos are poor quality. I don't know what happened to the camera. If you click on the boxes below the image becomes full screen.

    This is Halloween

    Wow...Awesome.
    Great job Al.
The servo technology is the wave of the future. I hope to learn more about them.

I know what's wrong with the videos. Weak batteries. You know that when you use that "Missile Launcher Size 8 Track Video Recorder" that you have to change all 210 D-size batteries every 3 minutes.

otherwise, an EXCELLENT job of using the servos with the 'Dog and sequencing.

    Thanks guys.

Yes you could but it would need to be less weight than a camera. You could use a pricey pan/tilt mechanism.

Or you could simply make your own with less expensive components. I plan to address your question better by doing the research into it for my own display. The pan/tilt that I used could handle a spot--maybe. The pumpkin that rode on the pan/tilt was surprising heavy.

Nice job Al even though John is talking bad about your 8 track camera.
