i am tinkering with the idea of doing a pixel mega tree. the dilemma i have is what are the best type pixels or ribbions to use for the tree. i'm thinking about an 8-10 ft tree.. what are your suggestions??

using the ones we have been referencing, you can get two strips of 8 feet long (25 pixels each), with one 5 meter strip. These are the same strips as the LOR CCRs except with a cost reduced pixelnet chip called the 2811. I am currently using the predecessor of the 2811 called the 2801 and with no issues at all. I believe Sam Johnson's strips this year are the 2811. Everyone likes them. And costs are coming down.

Your pixel tree would be about 7 feet tall (or slightly more) using half strips at 2.5 meters. Most people are building half trees since you can't see the back using strips. 12 strip and 16 strip are popular designs for half-trees. You may want to use pixel Strings instead of strips, if you want your tree all the way around. They come in 50 bulb and 100 bulb configurations but I don't have the specs for the string length in front of me...
    Thanks,
