Default Moving to the Raleigh area, hopefully by the summer 2018.

    Hi everyone!

My wife, son and I are hoping to move to the Raleigh area by the summer next year. I was excited before seeing this site, now I am psyched!

I have always been obsessed with holiday lights and decorations. With the upcoming move, Iím looking forward to joining the controller/pixel/decoration world.

I am totally lost with the acronyms, jargon and am a little overwhelmed as to how to get started.

Thanks for letting me ramble for a few.

    Steven

Thanks Scottmcl! I love your avatar. We are Disney fanatics and will miss the annual passes we have by being Florida residents. We are thinking of Cary, Apex, Holly Springs or Wake Forest. We spent 5 days in Raleigh over the Thanksgiving weekend scouting areas and are still almost as lost as we were before. Lol

Hi .. and welcome ! You found the right place to exercise your addiction. We have several local clubs in the Carolinas that use this site as their home base. The most active is in the Raleigh area with almost 50 members. The other is the the Coastal group, and one in South Carolina. If you are super crazy, you can exercise your addiction to the top here. Two of our local Raleigh club members have won the $50K on ABC's Great Christmas Light Fight.

The Raleigh local club is named TASL - Triangle area Synchronized Lightning. We meet a couple full Saturdays per year (Feb and august typically). Throughout the year we also hold coffee shop meetings, training sessions, and an occasional workshop. We also do a two day TASL tour during the weeknights between Christmas and New Years. Another advantage of the local club is access to spare parts. Our members span a wide range of technologies and software, and we all help each other when something breaks during the display times .. I will send you a PM with a few more details if you choose to join us.

I believe you are talking about Mike Register .. Really awesome .. But I don't have any information about it. Is there a web link?

It should also go into its own topic instead of this one...
