    Default Hanging out Holly Springs

I've had Animated Ligting Displays for 5 years - now running a simple 16 channel display at Christmas and 24 channels at Halloween. Starting to Dabble in Vixen, and once I get comfortable, will pick up a controller to test out the process. Also have the LOR software Demo............not sure where that will go. I know there is a conversion for the AL controllers to LOR, but I enjoy my singing pumpkins, so that display will continue to run on AL.

    Hey, John, welcome to CC!

I just checked; I was hoping to give you another alternate controller program, but it doesn't appear that xlights has an AL option.

With vixen and I believe LSP you can control your existing AL boards as well as adding board running other protocols.

I'm not one of them, but I know other members here have AL experience. Maybe they'll chime in?

I appreciate that - I'm toying with Vixen right now - just to get my feet under me on the process of programing ( I took programing in the 1970's and promptly rejected it as a viable way for me to make a living).
I know the AL software is vixen with an added module, but AL is in such a state of confusion right now- don't think they'd be any help other than to try and sell me their software for $400.00

I'd be interested - I'm probably not going to get much bigger than 32 channels (I run two different 16 channel displays at Halloween, but Christmas is strictly 16 channels now)

LSP will definitely run your AL controllers. At one time, I had 19 of the 16 channel controllers. I've done a bunch of conversion over to RGB and pixels, so I don't use as many of the AL controllers as I used to, but they'll still work just fine. In fact, I sold 3 of them to a buyer who wanted a few extra in early December.

In any case, welcome to CC and enjoy the ride!
