I think they have GREAT potential. We received them so late this season, I really didn't have time to explore much with them. I wrapped two of my front porch columns with them, have red LEDs (in threes) traveling the length of the white ribbon simulating a Candy Cane.

Also, LOR hopefully will have the software updated more next year to help with the programming of them.

I'm sure Mel will jump in here soon, he has done wonders programing his star.

For me the CCR went from Zero to Hero.... Before programing it you need to figure what shape to make it... The Star was the best for me.... The Star I have is like having 5, 10 channel mini arches. I have another post with more info on programing it.... For now forget the macros....

I'm coming up with a plan that will use four. The question is... do I want to buy that many.

The answer is yes... but as cheap as possible, lol.

PRE-SALE!!! I think they were discounted about $50 each if I remember correctly.

I'm still trying to decide how many more to order. Two got me through this year, but with Mel's examples, I KNOW I need more!

    William,

Just read the PM. WOW! WOW! WOW!

Can't wait to see it! I'll keep your secret until you are ready for the BIG REVEAL !!!

Everybody else, better order those CCR's. See if you can come up with a project to top William's.

I'll award a prize to the winner. Let's see, what would be a good prize? I'll think about it and post the prize for the contest later!

John... I haven't seen any of that magnitude so far.

That sucker will be rather large given the length of the CCR.

Just learning how to program them will be the hassle.

We don't have to worry about that, William.

I think I remember reading in a post where Mel promised to do our sequences for us! He is the "Carolina CCR Expert" after all.

All we would have to do, is send him an email with the effects we wanted, and the MP3 file, he would do the sequence, email it back to us, and then we would just "drop the CCR part" into the rest of our sequence.

Very generous of Mel to make this offer.

    William,

One more thing to keep in mind regarding your project. Where in the display you put it. (them) These things are BRIGHT ! Could easily overwhelm and washout any items made with incadescent mini's that are close by.
