Would somebody please let me know where I have to go to steal Mel and/or John's CCR?
Would somebody please let me know where I have to go to steal Mel and/or John's CCR?
Al,
This is simple:
I haven't received a shipping notice. Mel has. Mel gets delivery tomorrow.
So, you go where the CCR is. Mel's house.
Now wasn't that easy to figure out?
Plan B: Walter said mine was going to be shipped to his house. So you go to Walter's house and set on the front step until the UPS guy shows up, then you have my two.
(Gosh Al, I don't know why you get so confused about simple things)

John, you are too smart.
Walter I will meet the UPS guy for you for the next couple days. It is my way of saying thank you for all your hard work.
Mel, I will meet your UPS guy too. Don't worry about a thing.
Al
Got my CCR... Bad news no software to program it... Anybody knows if LightShow Pro will be able to program it??
Mel isn't it considered a standard DMX dimmable DMX appliance?
No, It's supposed to be a Showtime LOR Protocol controller from everything I've read in the preliminary manuals.
I'm hoping by the time I receive mine, the software for controlling them will be released. Just patiently waiting
Al, since they are NOT DMX, does that mean you are no longer interested in stealing them?
EDIT: Just in case anyone is interested, they can be controlled as DMX. Just messing with Al. I don't have DMX, so I think standard LOR.

LightoramaJohn just posted this reply to Mel's question on the LOR board.
It should have been shipped with legacy mode enabled. In your case it will use IDs 10 through 19. So the next 16 channels are at address 11.

Well yes, if one has a DMX controller.
But I don't, so I consider each one as a 157 channel LOR contoller.
From the manual:
The CR150D appears in a LOR Network at the
address set by the Hardware Utility, or it can
appear as up to 10 consecutive unit IDs when run
in legacy mode. (see the Unit ID Mode section)
It is configured in the Sequence Editor as up to 157
channels.
The first 150 channels are the R, G & B channels
for the 50 physical pixels. These channels can be
combined into Sequence Editor RGB channels
cutting the 150 to 50.
While it can be programmed in existing LOR software, I'm hoping a color picker and other enhancements to software will make using all the effects a little easier.

Lightoramajohn has replied:
The software with the Hardware Utility config screen for the CCR will be released shortly. It was shipped in legacy mode.
Why did they not tell us that the software was not going to make it for the release...
I think LOR announced and released the product too soon. LOR learned a hard lesson on the CCRs, DIO32s, and Servo Dogs to not announce shipping (or the product) before the product makes it through testing. Products often look good during the prototype stage but fall apart during product testing. If I ordered CCRs for my display this year, I would be livid at this point.
Speaking of Servo Dogs, they are supposed to ship in the next couple of days. Yeah right. They were supposed to ship a few times in the last couple months. I planned to use the Servo Dogs for a Halloween display but might not be able to at this point. At least the Servo Dogs are free.
LightShow Pro just sent an update that supports CCR.....
CCR party at Mel's house tonight...LOL

Dan has responded about the CCR...
Yes, That is interesting isn't it. Actually LSP listed the CCR as a supported product before they could have possibly ever had one to test. However, ithe CCR's legacy mode works as was published in the manual, thus it should work with any software that supports LOR controllers.
Configuration support for the CCR and support for controllers with up to 1000 channels will be released Monday. It is currently in beta test. If anyone wants to get a copy now send me an email at dan@lightorama.com ...
Proper support for RGB is taking longer than I hand anticipated. It is of highest priority and will be released as quickly as possible.

Hear they may have a problem with the ribbons on the CCR, (bad solder joint).
Al I would not waste my time yet going to John to get his CCRs they may be broken.
