Try plugging in an incandescent string along with the LED string and see what happens. I suspect a possible triac "problem" or maybe that particular LED string has LED that are on the cusp of tolerancing. If it is the triac then there are a couple different things you can do to stop that.

Yep, cheap LEDs and dimming are not always good.

Dennis... what version of firmware are those controllers on?

To find out, go to the hardware utility, click refresh and the ID number along with the version of firmware will appear.

The controller that tree is on, is Version 4.40. I have 2 controllers on 4.02 and 6 controllers on 4.40..Why?

Those two that are on 4.02 need to be upgraded.

The others on 4.40 are fine.

Later versions of firmware handle LED's better.

I'll have to get you on the phone Saturday and show you how to upgrade them which is quite easy.

This is what Ive checked out so far. I made sure no Cat5 cables were crossing anywhere around the tree or controller. I made a sample sequence that was just a bunch of fades. I thought that while the tree is fading I can unplug a strand at a time to see if all strings are flickering or was it just one string that caused the whole tree to do so. No luck. I plugged power into the top string only...it flickers. With that one still unplugged, I plugged into the rest of the tree...it flickers. Not sure why this is the only part of the display doing this. Oh and there are white minis and red LEDS on this tree as well, but only the blue flickers.

Some types and brands of LEDs will flicker , as Al stated.
Did you try plugging in a strand of incadescent minis with the LED string?

Did you do the firmware upgrade from ver 4.02 to 4.32 on those other controllers as William suggested?? (The ones with ver 4.40 are fine, leave them alone)

What kind (half or full wave) and brand are these LED strings? Are these the same as the others that don't flicker (same brand - same color)?

Posted on PC as well and someone posted a possibility....John you are correct. Plugging in a set of minis worked!!!!! Any thoughts of a more permanent fix or at least what to use for the rest of the season.

If it's only this one strand, the simplist thing might be to just get a Glade Plug In airfeshner and plug it in the end of the string.

It will provide a little more load to the triac in the LOR controller, just like the strand of incadescents did, or you could take a 47K ohm 1 watt resistor connected across both legs of a male plug to provide the load.

At this point in time, the Glade Plug In air freshner is probably the cheapest and easy solution.

A single C9 bulb works just fine. What you are experiencing is not a bad triac it is a problem with not giving the triac enough current to properly operate. It could happen with the other triacs when the temperature changes.
