Hi Thomas. I am not familiar with DC-4. What is it and where's a good place to buy it ?
    Thanks,

It is made by Dow Corning it is a di-electric compound. Any di-electric compound should work. It helps by keeping moisture away and corrosion in the socket.

    Thomas,

I believe you are referring to what I always called dielectric grease. Most auto parts stores sell small tubes made by Permatex, quite often used for trailer connections and in lamp sockets to prevent corrision so you can get the bulb out later.

Since Denny is a boater, he might be familiar with it but by a different name or term.
