i have been in the proses of replacing the bad pixels 2 down 1 to go building the frames and installing the pixels was easy if i could see better replacing the pixels would not be bad either. But it is what it is i will be posting build pictures this weekend this has not been a bad project it just been time consuming if would probity go a little better for a well sighted person but im happy with the end results.i would like to thank sean for the time he has put into nut cracker if not for his work id be doing sequencing for the next 2 years on this project

the matrix is basically finished i have to add 2 braces to the back of it my light weight construction method flexes when moved and its a good thing im going to hang it on the hand rails i don t think the tree will ever take the load. those geces are heavy.now i got to get the power supplies in the cg1500 then its complete.

Well if you had made the holders out of something more substantial it might have been too heavy to move around. You can always add some angle aluminum to strengthen it in case you want it self-supporting. Of course you know far more about matters like that than me. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

I count 18 high by 16 wide. How many lights are on a GECE string because your grid isn't in a multiple of 25? Don't the GECEs come in 25 multiples? Where are you mounting the bridge and power supplies?

Looks great, Mike! And whether it was 25 or 36 count, you can have up to 63 or so in a single string - you just have to splice it together...and having a few extra means you can fix the bad pixels, too!

I've got something similar, but made out of Pex pipe with strips inside.

I saw something over on DIYC or elsewhere that used the RGB strip inside the clear rigid panels they make small greenhouses out of. If I can find some, I might go down that road as well...

there are 8 strings 36 count i think it comes out to 860 channels well i had the 36 count laying arround had to use them some where.i have enuff for another 2 rows but if i do that i ll use all my spare pixels .with a little sequencing adjustment it will work for this year.i just wonder how long this would take if i was still good to go it feels like i have worked on it 4 months now.i guess the best thing now is IM HAPPY WITH IT.

Don't make the wiring where you will suffer to fix a bad pixel. When a pixel dies you want to be able to cut it out easily. Geez my north poles are a pain to fix pixels.
