Default 12Vdc waterproof power supplies fairly cheap

This is neat. It is several different amperage power supplies that are 100% waterproof. The prices are fairly cheap considering they are waterproof. To calculate amperage, take the wattage and divide by 12Vdc. An example is 18Watt/12Vdc= 1.5Amp.

This doesn't seem to be as good a deal as just a plain PC power supply in a CG1500 case. At least for the higher amps. The 60 W-5A one was $60. I can get a 450W PC PS that will put out 12-30 A of 12V for less than $25. But it has a fan, and needs a case. So it's a choice you need to make if you're going to have lots of DC stuff outside.

I've seen DMX controllers for 3 channels the size of a pack of cigarettes and "waterproof" without an enclosure. It requires a power supply that is "waterproof" (I dislike using the term waterproof) and the smallest power supply fits that need nicely. We shall see very cheap decentralized controllers next year--my guess by the current offerings.
