Oh yea... don't forget you can drive LOR controllers from the CFOL PiHat if you use the LOR USB dongle. I think there's a max of 6 controllers per dongle or you'll risk lag on the port.

Do you have to have the hat to do this?

Nope. I was doing this with your LOR dongles and controllers before we bought the PiHats.

I have the new PiCap coming. If you are on FPP software, the new PiCap has a cat-5 port with jumpers to allow a direct cat-5 cable support for LOR (using DMX but with LOR wiring). The same cat-5 connector can be jumpered for standard DMX wiring and Renard too. But only one can be selected. Only one jack.
    Thanks,

I had all 4 of my LOR controllers running from my Pi with the LOR USB dongle this year. You only need the Hat/Cap if you want to also run a second protocol. Otherwise your normal USB dongle is fine.

I'm happy to post that I've modified my PiHat case to also work with the version that has the buck converter and RTC. I can now make just about any Pi or Beaglebone case you want. I'd love to have some new colors but right now still just Red, Blue, Yellow, or White. The White is ABS and is giving me problems but if you must I'll try it. The rest are PLA.

    Hi Joe,

Would it be possible to get a copy of the STL files for these cases?

    Thanks in advance.

Search for 2033605 on thingiverse and you will find the case for the Pi plus PiHat

Yep, I put the PiHat up on Thingiverse. As for the regular case with just Falcon logo I'll post it tomorrow on Thingiverse under the DIY Holiday Decoration and Props group. There's some other cool stuff there too.

What are the size screws used to connect the pieces?

For the regular cases I used 3mm x 16mm and I have a ton of them so let me know if you want more. For the PiHat cases I didn't realize the 16mm screws weren't long enough. From measuring with calipers though the PiHat case is 2mm thicker so 3x18 should do it and you could go up to 3 x 22 safely.
