Stay off eBay unless you like seeing used things going for more than new price.

There is a post on PC for someone selling 7 of them; he says serious offers only, and to start at what he paid for them - $170 each.

I wish my vehicles held that type of resale value.

I think your best bet is to sign up at Light-O-Rama for the "secret" sale notification, and get in on that. Go for the bare assembled board; you can add your own case and power cords.

Scott, you could come over to the dark side and use LOR and DIY controllers. On the DIY side, the cost per channel drops but the aggravation and work increases. Converting to DIY is a pain in the butt initially but is easier once you get used to it. It is kind of like having all your teeth pulled out over the course of several dental visits.

I always buy my controllers at the Feb-March sale. In 2010 the price was around $175 each. They were $165 in 2009. And those prices included the high power heatsinks (already installed), the case, and all the cables. Bobby assembled them with me. Less than an hour each. Perhaps an hour including marking the channel numbers on the pigtails. I think that's the way to go. I really like the LOR cases and there's no custom fitting involved to mount the board or cut all the wires. I did change the wires on two of my controllers to make longer pigtails for under my Mega-Tree, but everything else is 100% LOR. You'll always have the best resale that way. I still have the pigtails (bagged) for the two controllers if I decide to sell them off one day.

Why would he not use his LOR controllers. I have 20 LOR controllers and 20 DIY controllers. And I use commercial lights too. So can Scott if he wants. It isn't hard.

Don’t tell him that… I want him to sell me his controllers for $25 each. hee hee hee.

I’m looking forward to 2011 and can’t stop thinking about the new stuff I want to build. I might even buy a pvc heater so I can make custom displays. I’m going to rework my wood working shop into a Elf décor shop. Ooo…
