Ha ! But I am also the one who owns Adobe Premier ! So the price would have to be pretty exciting to win me over. One more lesson from Mel and I'll be mixing my own. I am sorta almost there now .. but I only retained about half of what Mel taught me ..

I guess that makes me the best negotiator - - since I have lots of options.. :-)

From a requirements standpoint, I think a good video should be mixed from at least two views, and then accurately mixed back to the original music. Synchronization is obviously very important since that what we do ! So the guy can either quote us a rate per finished song minute, or just a rate per song. The more attractive his price, the more business he will get. It might also be nice to have an option for a third view mixed in.
    Thanks,

I usually shoot the same song 5-10 times to get the different views or "cutaways" all in.

About the 5th time, and I'm usually sick of it, lol.

and that's why your videos look so darn GREAT ! After all you are also a professional with the camera !

OPTIONAL Question: (if you ignore and choose not to answer, I understand)

From your knowledge of the video industy, and shooting and editing the way you do your own, about what would a total stranger expect to pay for a 3 minute song, mixed to your quality standards?

    Since I don't freelance, I don't mind answering.

    A song compared to these:

Would end up costing 100-300 each.

I know videographers in the wedding business can make upwards of $5K on one.

Thanks for the info William. I was thinking in the $250 range for an above average videographer doing a little moonlighting on the side.

Looked at some of Sam Griffin work on his website, and his resume, and figured he might be in the $400 - $500 range at least.

Of course my interest is only courisity, since I'm out of state and have absolutely no dog in the hunt

    I'll check his out.

It might be worth it for him to come to the convention and give tips on shooting video of your display.

This is an example, if you want something creative like this, (http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?...12670295413833), then get ready to open up your wallet.

    Scott -

Ask him to join the forums at ChristmasCarolina.com, and maybe come to a TASL get-together or two; he may be a closet sequencer. It may affect his rates to us (ulterior motive)

It may also convince him he needs to come to the convention and do a knowledge share.

WOW!!! I just watched these videos for the 1st time and the Linus video with the different camera angles gives the impression of 10,000 channels. WOW, much cooler switching angles like that, never thought of it!

I shoot mine from at least 3 different angles.

My new camera has great low light and as you can see in the video the lights have color and are not white. I can for $200 do other people's video in the Raleigh metro area... That would be for 2 songs 2 seperate videos. $50 for each additional song. If you are using Kevins VOs they would count as part of the song like in the sample above. I would need a copy of your music to dub in to the video so there want be cars and airplanes heard...
