The agenda will be growing and changing so check back often. Also feel free to send your suggestions. We want to plan a mix of topics covering the basics for our newer members, as well as pixel related topics and other common interest topics.

@Jack Stevens usually runs a live feed for the meeting. Location is TASL RDU in Google. But Jack has a conflict this time. We will not be able to have the live feed until the next TASL ..

    Agenda items for Feb 6th:

    9:30 - 10:30am Christmas 2015 - What Worked and What Didn't Work!
INDENT] This is when we all discuss this past Christmas. There enough time for at least 10 people to discuss their ideas that worked, and particularly great if you can tell us about a really great idea that didn't work. Since most everything is custom built, we all learn from this discussion.

10:30 - Noon Pi Player Solutions Overview - Joe Tripp

NOON - 1:00pm Pot Luck LUNCH (everyone bring something to share). Check the list and post what you will bring.

1:00 - 2:00pm Share your past projects. Bring something to display and/or demo. Please message me with your item(s) for this list.

    4:00 - 4:15pm TASL Business - Open TASL Discussion - Denny

    • Discuss how many meetings we want for 2016 (2 or 3)?
    • When do we want the 2016 meetings (what Months)?
    • Bank Balance Report
    • Are we ready to set one or more dates for a group workshop ?

Introductions starting 9:00am and Presentations will begin by 9:30am. We need to end the formal presentations around 4:15pm to begin teardown, and cleanup the hall. By the rules of our rental agreement we need to leave by 5pm. Many times they have another renter coming in after 5pm.

This is a POT LUCK LUNCH meeting. Please let us know what you will bring to share. Be sure to check what others are bringing so we can get a range of main dishes, side dishes and deserts. I can supply a Keurig machine to make coffee. And I can bring some K-cups. We could use a volunteer to bring cups and creamer. Also breakfast snacks are nice to have.

I will try to remember the nametags from the last meeting. A handful of you did not leave your nametags from the last meeting, so please let me know if you still have it !

Be sure to bring your own drinks for the day. There is plenty of room for coolers and a full refrigerator in the kitchen. The kitchen also has a full size stove with oven and a large microwave. There's lots time for baking or reheating before lunch !

This meeting is open to ANYONE who would like to participate, or just listen in for their first time. It is a good time for new members to sign up to be a TASL member for 2016. But you do not have to be a TASL member to attend a TASL meeting. If you are thinking about creating your first holiday show with synchronized lights and music, you can join a TASL meeting to learn more about how its done. Come on out and join us! If you are bringing friends or other family members, please make sure you post their names when you acknowledge your attendance.

We always have tables available for an informal Christmas Garage sale throughout the day. Bring cash if you are looking for deals. Bring your items to sell or trade. There are always some real nice deals and giveaways !

I do have an all-day conflict on this, so I won't be able to stream it. I'm hoping someone else can?

Open Project time: I need to redo a couple of my mini trees. I could do this at that time and show the basics, if anyone is interested. It would be focused on how I did mine. Then I can open the floor to have others provide their examples. Except Paul. He cheated with the Coro and the pixel trees...

Got it .. we can expand that segment if others can bring some mini tree examples. We should compare them first, so we don't all bring the same. I believe yours are the tomato cage type. I can bring one of mine, which is miniature mega-tree style.

Yes, mine are tomato cages. Maybe Paul can bring one of his, too. Then we can show three different ways to get a similar effect. Actually, Petr can bring his bigger trees for a fourth option!! Because nothing says Christmas light display setups like way more options than you know what to do with!!!

I was planning to come. However, I leave that morning for Colorado for a business trip, so I won't be able to make the Feb meeting.

Hope you guys have a great meeting!

The hall has the pull-down screen now, but I can bring the sheet as a backup if I can make it to the meeting. My company's corporate party was supposed to be Friday night but due to the inclement weather, it was postponed. I hear that it may be on that Saturday now. I'll post back when I can commit to the meeting.
