Shooting stars, like the guy in Australia...or maybe you could call it exploding stars - more like fireworks...

A henweigh is similar to an encabulator:

About 3 or 4 pounds unless the encabulator is sinusoidally decambulated.

That is a cute post Vic.

Slightly different spin......hmmmmm......and you have servodogs.......I remember a recent posting, maybe on here, maybe not, about modifying servos for continuous spin.

So is this surprise display element using slip rings to transfer power to whatever is spinning slightly different?

That's a cool idea Jack ! We need to get Al working on that. We need some "canned" servo-dog solutions that work reliably without massive debug and "tweaking."

That is a good question Jack. I wrote it on a paper, sealed it in a Mason jar, and put it on Funk and Wagnall's front porch for answering.

That was an interesting application of slip rings there....I've never seen them used that way before. I will say it definitely had a different spin. People were ducking to make sure they wouldn't get hit.

I have other pictures, but they're covered under a non-disclosure agreement. When that expires, and if I remember to come back to this thread, I'll upload them there.

You miss a lot if you don't show up to these, including super secret display elements.

Lip syncing display elements were also discussed; I mentioned I had seen a link to software that could define mouth shapes for you based on the lyrics you enter. Here's the start of that discussions: http://www.christmascarolina.com/for...=8935#post8935

    Scott -

We closed the place, and continued for a while out in the parking lot. I'm sure Al would have re-demonstrated the device with slip rings, having it spin around slightly different, and the super-secret new effect could have been shown again. Heck, just driving by the Starbucks, you would have seen them while either were activated. But you had to be there (which you were, just a little late) to get to see them at all.

I will attest that Roger was there. And I firmly believe he is being completely truthful when he states openly that he knows the secret.
