Default LED Keeper icicle lights question/problem

Ok I have a section of led icicles out. When I try to use my led keeper on the bad section it pops the gfci. I know you're only supposed to connect it to the wire going to the bulb which is what I'm doing. Anybody have any experience with this? I've used it a ton of times on regular strings with no problems (today again as a matter of fact) it works great!

I have not used the LED keeper but if it's like the incandescent version, you might need to remove one bulb from each of the good sections of the icicle string. You can put a piece of tape where you pulled each bulb.

I'm like Denny; I haven't yet gotten a LED Keeper Pro, although it's on my want list. "regular strings" - LED strings? I'm thinking that you should be using this with the string unpowered, correct? My failing memory says the device punctures the wire and sees if the LED lights up, so I assume the string should be unpowered otherwise.

My only real experience with LED strings is the old "pull the LED and test it in a working string" method because I don't have the LED Keeper Pro. My Light Keeper Pro's power-detection will mostly work on half wave strings.

Naa the string stays powered. You actually plug the led keeper into the end of it. You only pierce the wire going to the bulb (which is what I did and always do) and like I said before it works great, but something is different about these icicle lights.
