    Default Molex Connectors

Does anyone have a good, reliable, and cheap source for molex connectors?

I'm thinking about building one huge project that would require 80+ channels.

Not sure what kind of current carrying capacity you would need for each pin, or how many pins per connector you would want, but here is a link to Mouser's pages (about 30 pages of molex connectors) Happy reading

    Molex

EDIT: I'm sure you already know this, but be sure to also get the approriate size pin removal tool ( a neccessity for me so I could fix my mistakes)

    What mistakes?

    I guess I need one's with 16 pins each. That's 8 channels.

I know you don't make mistakes, but I sure do!

This page shows only the ones with 16 pins

Ah ha. William, I'll bet you are using them to make the flag have individual LED control. I love a good mystery. Or you are using the coroplast to make a huge sign that you put in your yard and scroll ugly messages about John on it. I like that idea. I want one. You could have LSP scroll ugly pictures of John too. Now that would be innovative.

William is my friend. He would never do that

Al, if that happened, it would be a total system failure. LOL!

The molex connectors will be for another project.

The coro flag has been completed.

I'll tell all of you about my new idea at the convention. It requires 3-5 controllers.

What part of SHOW and Tell do you not understand. Without the SHOW part, the Tell may be boring.

Get it built quickly and SHOW it!

After all, you still have three weeks

William, if you plan to put low levels of current through a connector (i.e. 10mA) it is best to use gold plated pins to hamper corrosion that will act as a dielectric. High levels of current helps "clean the pins". So, a D sub connector with gold plated pins might be better for a low level current application such as a single LED. D subs are cheap too. Just a thought. The likelihood of it happening is remote due to the device being indoors most of the year, but like the old saying goes, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

LOL John. If I can get the time to build it this year.

Al, it would be standard 125V.

    Al,

William doesn't know what the current is. He doesn't have a Kill-O-Watt meter, yet.

He will have one when I put it in his hands at the convention, then he can measure his amps.
