Default Mounting the Power Supply in the Mighty Mini Controller Enclosure

I am at the dock soldering MM boards and I have been pushing the power supply and LOR DC controller around the box. I could not find more than one standoff hole to match up with anything.

John/Mark, I recall one of you showed a picture or your completed case. What techniques are you guys using for mounting your power supply? I was thinking stainless bolts and nuts with aluminum standoffs, but they would have to have the threads stick out the back of the case unless I trim them perfectly to length to fit exactly through the power supply's bottom plate. The power supply has no actual mounting holes without being dis assembled. It must have been made to fit snugly into a carrier of some sort. Even dis assembly looks like I might disrupt some of the heatsink. Straps would be the simplest mounting method but not very professional looking. I always like to get a range of ideas for my projects. I want it to look like it was designed for the case rather than a hack job .. Ideas welcome ..
    Thanks,

Default Re: Mounting the Power Supply in the Mighty Mini Controller Enclosure

I made brackets for mounting my power supplies that mate up to the side mounting holes in the power supply case

For the controller cards, I used 6x32 hardware with a nut thickness for the spacer.

I have additional info on my website - HOW TO / Mighty Mini / Controller Case.

The real secret is the luan board, with all screw heads on the back side, nuts on the top side.

I had a L shaped metal plate that mounted to the bottom of the enclosure and had a vertical side where I mounted the PS (it has holes on one side). I also drilled holes in the bottom plate so that I could mount the controller.

But i didn't put it in the CG1x00 enclosure either. That's my next project, but not until I get some other stuff done...
