I'm sticking with the Mighty Mini LED Floods. Like John I have boards on order and waiting to see the results at the end of the month before buying the LEDs.

    Its me and you John.

Sounds like a plan to me Thomas. Since I committed to this project last fall, I now only need the LEDs and resistors.

If Al's little meeting group wants to do something different after they have their February social and hen party, that's OK with me.

Heck Thomas, we will just do our own little group buy for the two of us. I ordered 5 boards, could always order a few more if needed to boost the LED order size.

Now John, don't throw all of us in with Al. Some of us don't live in the Triangle, and don't want to get lumped in without some defense. I'm more than willing to do a group buy of LED's sometime soon. I've already got 3 floods filled with LEDs, have 2 more boards, and probably will buy a few more boards from Frank. I have almost one set of LED's (minus one because it was bad, but didn't catch it before I soldered it in), so will need a few sets.

Just be patient and let's do all this together for the benefit of the group....

Guess I haven't been frequenting DLA as much as I should. I'm always glad to see someone come up with a new design. However, it's unproven until the prototypes are built and the bugs worked out. And I'm also concerned about heat.

The Mighty Mini has been built by several folks, and has been through some revisions already, and is field proven. I'm going with what I know works, rather than waiting to see if RJ's or the LOR flood becomes real....

    Just my 2 cents.

Sorry Mark, believe me, I understand WHY you might not want to be too closely associated with Al !

I was just saying, that regardless of the decision of Al's hen party, that Thomas and I are committed to the Mighty Mini for this year. You are welcome to join our group buy if Al doesn't do one, since some of us will need them anyway!

I agree with you Mark. However I do feel like the housing RJ is using will disapate the heat quite well though.

Since I don't have any of the Lynx boards nor the wireless DMX stuff, but do have the LOR DC board, I only have a passing interest in RJ's project, and with the MightyMini's, I won't need LORs flood either!

Thanks Walter, I agree with your comments about Al!

But I'm worried about you now. I think you have been working too hard since Last Friday's storm. See post # 16 in this thread.

I don't speak for the group only myself. Before I spend hundreds of dollars on something that I have never seen before and have relatively little information on I want to know more about it. I make nothing off the group buys other than the power of a quantity discount. I will tie up about $2k to 3K of my money to help our group. If somebody else wants to do so I welcome your help.

Uh, Oh, I accidentally stepped on a nerve! Didn't mean to, Al, and, I'll say I'm sorry if I got carried away with my humor.

I'm always glad to particpate in a group buy to save money, and have never had any problem kicking in the product cost up front, plus the shipping when it is known.

I hope more then just Mark, Thomas and I are going to build these, as we are already committed. Maybe if Mark can make the Triangle meeting with one of his, others will also join in.
