    Default William's Firesticks

Wow William. I was looking through your Christmas Display website and noticed the firestick video that you posted last week. is that a retail gadget or did you make it ? What are the specs, channels, light types .. etc etc. ?

Those are ones I made. It's basically an arch that is not bowed.

Wrap seven strands of lights on each pipe. Each strand is individually controlled.

They can be a channel hog or a channel saver. If you make five sticks like mine and don't want to use a lot of channels, then make each strand on each stick on one channel.

If you want those to look like mine, then use 35 channels.

To get them to stand up, drive two feet of 1/2" EMT conduit in the ground and slip them over the conduit.

As far as the strobes, each strobe is controlled individually to consume five more channels to a total of 40.

The pipe used for the lights is 3/4" PVC conduit.

Wow, lots Of channels with the firesticks. I also liked your giant snowflake - the one with 24 channels in particular. Even the one with 6 channels wasn't bad considering how few channels.

I like EMT pipe reference. I will keep track of that idea for future projects. I am using a similar system for my borders and for my mini-trees for my first year. I am driving 1/2" rebar in the ground and dropping 1/2" PVC over it. I made the PVC posts for my borders look like candycanes by wrapping red tape around them. My 7 mini-trees are going to also have 1/2" PVC pipe up the middle, and drop over rebar for support.
I will post pictures of both once I get them done. I am particularly excited about the mini-trees. I just could not find what I wanted, but I had an image in my head... so I designed my own.
    Thanks,
