Cool Using plastic mesh to hang light on tress.

For the past few years @AnniesSS got herself dizzy winding/wrapping the light strings around our tress. This year we decided to use plastic mesh/chicken wire and attach the lights to that and then use bungee cords to hold the mesh to the trees. The idea here is to save time in the future on the removal and installation of the lights and to also put more light towards the street. This will also allow us to have the light go higher up the trees with the same amount of light strings. The installation is a bit time consuming now as we have to ziptie all the strings to the mesh, this is taking about an hour or so per tree, but come next year each tree will take a matter of minutes to setup! The removal will only take a few minutes per tree. For storage we plan on hanging the mesh matrices in our shed at the end of the show season.
Here are some pictures of what we have been doing:

We have a few different styles and sizes of mesh that we got from Lowes for less than 10 bucks per roll.

Yes... quite time consuming but I'm excited for the lack of extra work each year

How are you attaching your wire to the tree?

Yep, wife and I got tired of the round and round and round the tree process. We now use a bungee sized to the tree (we have pines so the rough bark assistd with holding it up.), then have the lights traveling up and over the bungee, zipped tied. Then all we have to do is climb the ladder, wrap the bungee around, climb down spread the strings around tree and use 2nd bungee to hold in place at ground level. Take down is opposite, then we coil the lights and store, ready for next year.

The larger trees have bungee cords... the smaller ones have large zip ties. Joel bought 2,000 small zip ties and I already had about 3-500 of them and I only have about 200 left! 4 more trees to complete and they are done! Hope I have enough zip ties lol ( @rcktpwrd - order more!)

Ordered a couple thousand more 4" ties today! Along with some hook and loop cable ties as well!
