    Default The Kennedy Snowflake

After more than six months of designing and building, the 'Kennedy Snowflake' was hoisted into position yesterday in prepartion for this year's Christmas display. It stands 25 feet high and is 25 feet wide with more than 21,000 clear and blue lights. It will use 78 LOR channels to make it dance to the music for the holiday season!

I wanted our new friends at christmascarolina.com to be the first to see it -- we hope to like it and once we get it connected to the boxes in the coming weeks, we will make sure to post a video too.

Unfortunately the Kennedy Snowflake has sustained some damage in the wind and rain over the past couple days. We are still hoping that she will manage to be repaired and able to light with the rest of the display, but it is pretty hard to see something that you put so much time and money into get damaged by Mother Nature. Hardly seems fair, but we are going to do our best to make sure she still gets her moment to sparkle!!

    Very sad ..

If you don't mind giving the damage details, I am curious which elements of the design were not strong enough to withstand the forces ? Or perhaps post a picture. I would like to design something similar for next year. And currently I like designing stuff around PVC. It would help to know what needed to be "beefed up" ..
    Thanks,
