I need to get pictures of them now since they're in the front yard, staked down and decorated.

I have pictures of these 2 box's finished, staked down, and decorated. But, I'm not a big computer guy and they are too large, and I do not know how to reduce the picture size so I can post them...

The hurricane trashed my Halloween display scheduling ... and that kind of put me behind for xmas, believe it or not.

So, we're opting for a bit of "less is more" this Christmas. It's also somewhat it response to some neighbor fatigue last Christmas.

I know this puts me in the minority here - but to be honest- Thanksgiving to New Years felt a bit much - even to me - last year.

We're targeting a phase1 go live end of NEXT weekend, with some elements (neighbor yards) perhaps not coming online until the following weekend.

i am behind the eight ball. About a 1/4 to 1/2 way through. Today i was making progress and got a flat tire on my truck (in the yard no less) so I will most likely have an abbreviated show.

Went live today. Had a little get together with the neighborhood kids and hot chocolate. Everything is running as planned so far. First year with pixels and everyone loved them.

I got my high ladder stuff done this weekend. Hoping to wrap up the yard this week, connect the neighbors, and be running next weekend.

We had a glitch with the transmitter I had got, I set it up and tested it and it worked fine, until we needed it for the display! So off to Amazon and ordered a new transmitter (czh-05b) and it showed up today, two days earlier than expected! Got it all setup and now we have music on FM!

of course right after I post that the new transmitter is up an running and the show looks and sounds great, the rain picks up and kicks a GFI so almost everything went dark!

I went out and tried resetting the GFI only to have it trip instantly, pulled one of the extension cords that goes to two of the controllers and then it reset. So right now we have two of four controllers running... Going to be fun trying to track down the culprit! At least I have it narrowed to 3/4 of the stuff in the display! LOL

I had the same problem last year. Likely just a bad extension cord somewhere. Or in my case a waterlogged cord. Here is what I did. Unplug the 2 power cords at both the controllers and recheck. If it trips then you found your bad extension cord run. If it doesn't trip then plug the power cords at the controllers in 1 at a time. This way you can narrow it down very quickly if it is one of the light strings. God speed.

I plugged the extension cord back in when I got home today and what ever it is dried out enough since last night and everything is back on.

We had the same problem last year as well and I was able to figure out what was causing the gfi to trip and disconnect it. When we took everything down at the end of the season one of the extension cords running up a tree looked like it had been chewed on!

I will figure out what the issue is and correct it, it will just take a bit of time looking over everything....

Considering how little rain we got, it must be a wire really exposed. I get a river in my yard with a good rain so I ran all the wires crossing this area through PVC discharge hose. Time will tell if it works.

Our yard is full of trees, leaves, pine needles and has tiers and different elevations. lots of places for water to puddle up and cause problems. We've been through this problem before and will most likely continue to have it. No big deal.

This rain today got me. Tripped 2 of my GFIs including the one powering the Pi's. luckily the Pi's are not corrupted. But I have a backup SD and USB copy of each just in case. I think I figured out my rain issue so I will try to fix it after it dries out. Lights are much easier in Indiana where it's just cold and snowy.

I think I have narrowed the culprit(s) down to two circuits causing the gfi to trip. One circuit is one channel of our mini trees and the other circuit has some of our deer on it.
