Default New keeper of the Display locator needed?

It seems like we might need a new person to handle these request...

Carl hasn't posted on the forum in over a year.... also hasnt responded to PMs...

Probably should consider finding someone who logs on here to edit the locator.

I spoke to several people that asked about other displays- I hesitate to even send them to the locator....

I have no idea what the protocol is to do this - but I'm happy to help.

it might be a good idea to let Denny and or Robb contact Carl and see what his plans might be

Yeah, I don't know what the protocol is- hence my question.

For what it's worth- I had tried to context Carl with no luck.
And, judging by his forum profile, he hasn't posted here in over a year.

I've got some friends that used the locator to find displays in the area to see. They told me that the locator is no longer working and I confirmed it. Anyone know what is going on with this?

I found Rob via text last night. He said he would look into it (hopefully soon). I think it will be great if you can learn how the locator works. Please go ahead and contact Rob tho. So he knows we're both looking to learn it. I would like to learn how to it too. It's always good to have a backup. We might have to meet Rob to do this. Unless he could perhaps teach it over a teleconference ..

From my past discussion with Karl, the display locator is very unique software compared with the rest of the site. I know it has a database, which should be simple. Apparently linking the database with the map is the tricky part.

I think its great that Rob has agreed to look into it "soon", but its been like 2 years since its been updated. :-(

Now the link isn't just outdated, but dead.

I think until he decides to fix it, it would be better to remove the link to it completely- no sense sending people to a known dead-link.

Good points. We knew about this last year. And I forgot completely about it. Otherwise I could have been hounding Rob for some help. Mike Purser has also offered to help. We'll see if we can get some training. But I have no idea how soon .. Sorry this fell through the cracks. It just fell off my radar.
    Thanks,
