A nice tree. You can grow it and change it easily over time. Looks like the one in the video can eat a whole controller .. 5 spirals of 3 colors = 15 channels.

That's actually what we've planned for our third controller, just that Spiral Tree. We should be able to get our second controller this next month (October).

Good Day. I love the island of misfit toys. One of my favorite Christmas Shows. Great Addition. Yes, I am also getting the itch to want to put some of my stuff up as well. Unfortunately, I live in an association that has issues with decorations up more than 30 days prior to the Holiday so I am prepping in the garage so that when I can put them up they are ready to go and I don't have to wait so long. Don't have much new going in this year but have ideas for sure. just have to see how everything plays out at this point. Van Horn Family Christmas - online the day after Thanksgiving.

We're still programming more songs for this years Christmas Light Display. Now we're taking last years stuff with 16 channels and redoing those for 32 channels. Not near as many as most of you, but we're getting there.

Wait... You mean you actually take down your decorations just to put them back up again?

    Lol- it's all good.

The funny thing is, when I started all this 2 years ago, I was ONLY planning to do Halloween.... Not even considering Xmas.

Then, as I had dozens of neighbors complimenting it- the overwhelming comment after "awesome" was "I can't wait to see what you're going to do for Xmas!,"

Uhoh.... Lol- so my first Xmas was STARTED on about Oct15th! I think I got the LAST element up and running....on dec24th!

My wife is against having a Halloween show but I'm trying. I picked up 4 20w floods from Rob last week. I'm building them now and waiting on enclosures. I'm trying to get them out early along with some simple orange AC light strings just to have 'something' out there for Halloween color. Undecided if I will sync to music or just have them rotating through some orange, purple, green, red colors. I have more plans for next year to include the new neighbor who apparently does a cool traditional Halloween scare yard. Lots of static and active fixtures in his yard with smoke machines and colored floods. He loved my Christmas display so now I just need to get him to pick up some controllers and pixels.

OH and I LOVE the new pixel icicles Paul!!! Awesome, can't wait to see what else you do with those.

    Thanks.

    I underestimated the pixel workload!

I designed ALL my stuff with smart pixels, but initially, I may be treating some of the elements as "dumb" for the sake of sequencing load. Especially for Halloween- I had a dozen sequences to add the pixel sequencing to!

However, for xmas I plan to explore more of the smart pixel capabilities. As such, Im planning to run 5 songs only. Initially I was freaking out about that (last year I had 12 or 13). But I wanted to trade off the quantity for quality his first year. Plus with the crowds we started getting last year, I think s starter show is better anyways.

Update from Florence, The wife has been working on this during the week while I do my real job. i've have been at this every weekend it has not been raining on the outside stuff. Reserved this weekend to do all the sync music elements, took the day today to get the mega tree up. decided to change up and not wrap the ends under toward the 'trunk' (the flying cone that levitates 3' off the ground ). and extended the light strands to the ground, tested this evening and wow the tree looks even larger. center pole is 20' so I was cheating the public from the addition 3' feet of lights! tomorrow is the singing trees, leaping arches and lawn lights. Opening Sat the 28th. got to keep hustling.
