    Larry -

    I just changed the date on an already-paid for reservation from 08/26 to 09/23. I used the link on the confirmation email.

    I would post that here but it's specific to the reservation made and no longer works since I made the change. There was an increase in the price of the room, about $10.

    I was thinking about calling in but after reading about your trials and tribulations, I read through the email and saw how to avoid the guy who would probably get dinged for letting you change that.

    Thanks Al any help is appreciated. They are supposed to email me back and let me know if they can change it to Friday night Sept. 23rd but a refund would be nice also.

    For those who sent physical checks, I have not cashed them yet. I will PM you later tonight to discuss how to handle them. In general, I'm open to holding them until the week of the new date, but am open to your suggestions. Additionally, if you can't attend, I can simply return your checks to you.

    Larry, I had squat to do with it. The manager at Hampton Inn, Scott, may have had something to do with it but not me. Scott was fun to talk with. I'm always amazed at how many nice people live in our area and the state for that matter and how willingly they are to help each other. Now I'm getting all teary.

    Regardless of who did what, I am happy you got your refund. Have a great weekend. Stay out of Raleigh for a couple days.

    This is great news Larry. I have always liked that particular Hampton.

    I hope you are rescheduling for the Sept 24th Convention. Lots of fun interaction with Christmas guys (of course) .. and an amazing list of high quality items in this year's door prizes from sponsoring vendors. also a good place to sell or trade your Christmas lights, display items, etc

    I will blow in if my Saturday event should change but I doubt you all will see me.

    I sit on the board for our Marching Band Boosters and am in charge of the money and the fundraising. If it cancels I will need to find something else for that spot. I am going to start another thread about this and ask for advice.

    Ah, the joys of marching band! I sat on the board, and actually was president one year...it's keeping all the mom's happy that is the challenge!

    After the fact, I think it was the right call to postpone this event.

    The event itself could have gone on, probably with some power bumps, but transport to/from the event would have been a bit hairy, especially for the out-of-towners.

    Having been in my high school band, I can definitely say I'd rather be a Band Aide than an Athletic Supporter. Thank you for doing that!

    The power was out for quite some time Saturday, I was told, which would have made a lighting convention dark.

    Would not have been the first time my generator was used for this type of event. But I'd rather stay on commercial power; my generator can't handle the demand of the HVAC unit.

    Mine wouldn't handle the HVAC either, but it would run some lights and the refrig if necessary.
