Al, the motor coach resort you are staying at is it the one on the west side of the lake on highway 150?

Yes, it is near 16 and 150. It has a Sherrill's Ford address but am not sure of the actual town. Here is the link. http://www.lakenormanmotorcoachresor...ke_norman.html

It is supposedly 10 minutes from Mooresville. I will be there on Thursday night and leaving Sunday.

A heads-up about the host hotel. When I went to the Marriott site to make a reservation, they had a note posted that they are in the middle of renovating the lobby. They are actually adding a bar, I believe, but there may be less space than usual.

In the evening, most times the lobby/breakfast area is deserted, so I don't know why folks complained last year.

The SpringHill is usually laid back - more than the Courtyard properties.

That the one I though it was. You are more than 10 minutes away, more like 25 minutes.

The drive is not a concern. This is a nicer campground than others in the area. Besides, it cost us for 3 nights what 1 night cost in the hotel and the accommodations are nicer.

They just redid the campground a couple of years ago. It is one of the best around. Just get on HY 150 and head west, after you get away form the business section of Mooreville you will past a restaurants call Big Daddy (seafood) on your right (good food). Then you will cross the main bridge of the lake and come up on Marshall Stream Station. Keep going straight and you will pass the town of Terrell. Then you will cross two bridges ( second one has a marine on left). The road will have a slight curve to the left and the camping resort is on the right side of the road. Across the road is Lineberger's Steak House & Saloon and Thursday nite is prime rib. They have good days and bad days. The last time we eat there was about a year ago and it was good.

Thanks Thomas. Did you hear that Mel about the restaurant? it just keeps getting better. Deb likes prime rib. Maybe we should plan a meeting spot somewhere to have a group dinner one night--maybe Saturday night. Any help with organizing this from the locals would be very appreciated. We'd have everybody down to the motorhome, but the campground would get upset with that many people showing up.

Ha ! I think we have this one bashed out pretty well. I can't imagine any rocks left unturned. LOL ..

I can't stay Sat night. I have friends flying in around 11pm (RDU) to spend a week on the boat with us .. And this year we're also including the wives ..

The food should be a lot better ... hungry:

I am game for meeting up somewhere Friday night for dinner. I will have to head towards home after the convention and make a detour to get my stash. Got to be at work 7Am Sunday.

May be up for a Saturday night dinner. Depends on how much money the wife spends at the quilting shops! And how I feel after a full day of talking. But should be good for perhaps a short dinner.
