Just a thought but maybe we should do the door prizes differently this year. Everyone gets a number and then you randomly draw numbers throughtout the day and a prize is already assigned a number. I mean I know the first thing to go will be the controller from Dan. I want it! lol

Got a few newbie questions for y'all about the convention:

    - most importantly, how do we find out exactly where the red cup social is?
    - will this be like the mini in Raleigh back in Feb (or so) but on a "bigger" scale?
    - am I the only first year going? If so, how much am I going to be hazed?
    - Sounds like lunch is provided as well as snacks. Not pot-luck like in Feb. Is that also correct?
    - Any other tips for my first one of these?

    Thanks for your help!!!
    - Scott M.

Got a few newbie questions for y'all about the convention:

    - most importantly, how do we find out exactly where the red cup social is? - Sorry Scott you need to be a member of the Red Cup Society to find out

    - will this be like the mini in Raleigh back in Feb (or so) but on a "bigger" scale? - NO nothing like it at all

    - am I the only first year going? If so, how much am I going to be hazed? - YES , So you must sit in the back and keep quit and don't ask question , because the rest of us know it already and you will be wasting our time.

    - Sounds like lunch is provided as well as snacks. Not pot-luck like in Feb. Is that also correct? - Yes but you will need to bring your own cup, plate, fork, knife, spoon, napkins and ice.

    - Any other tips for my first one of these? - since we may not have enough chairs for everyone, you may need to wear comfortable shoes because you might be standing all day

The Social and the Convention are hosted by different people. John and Annalisa are the hosts for the Social. William and Carl are hosting the convention. Both are non money making activities. Businesses donate stuff and sometimes showoff their wares but the people that make this happen i.e. Carl, William, John, Annalisa, etc have no business ties and make no money off of this. As with the TASL meetings, helping setup and tear down is something that volunteers do because they are nice people. The cost of the convention covers the facility and food for the day and that is it. This is for us by us. The Red Cup Socials are put on at the host hotel and are fun. You are encouraged to bring stuff for it. There will be a free open bar that has been provided by in large parts by Annalisa and John. Beer and wine are usually not provided so you are encouraged to bring stuff like that if you wish. Some sodas and food are bought by the folks hosting the Red Cups, but you are encouraged to bring stuff like that too. Again, this is for us by us.

The TASL folks know how to pull their weight and help. I can attest to that.
