RED MOUNTAIN LIGHTS
My normal 10 miin drive home from work took about 45 min tonight. We have a nice ice base with just over 3" of snow on top of it so far.
Before I left for work this morning, the Weather Channel maps had a broad white path from Oaklahoma to the east coast, except for a little section of lower East TN where I am, that they were only predicting light flurries for. Most of Tenn did get hit harder.
May be fun going to work tomorrow morning! Dang city road crews haven't done squat!

It sounds like you were spared. I am glad.
I told Deb we should make snow cream tonight in jest. She didn't know what snow cream was. She spent 35 years in Canada in areas that get snow and cold in proportions that would cripple Southerners. Regardless, I love my home and truly love our silly customs. I have a friend that carried the snow cream silliness to his son which will surely make sure that the snow cream tradition continues. His son will show his children the silliness and the silliness that our parents gave us continues. I can only hope.

Wow,
I haven't had snow cream in years. My Mom used to make it, but only when the snow fall was 6" or more.

John, it's time to make snow cream.
We're expecting 14-18 inches here.
I'll have a 11 day stretch of work.
I would love to be off one time to enjoy the snow and scraping the driveway.
This is for fun...

I will glady send all this snow and sleet to my friends in North Carolina.
Watching the Weather Channel tonight, something just isn't making any sense to me. They had a crawl on the screen, reporting Tennessee snowfall totals, from the National Weather Service. Chattanooga was now 4" (and still snowing), north of me, Knoxville was 2 inches and Johnson City (Tri-Cities area) on the Virginia / North Carolina line, was reprted as only 1 inch. Crazy, they always get tons of more snow thenn we do. Weird

Hey William,
That's cool. Are you going to leave the webcam on all weekend?

We had about 5 inches of fluffy snow today. This afternoon and tonight is sleet. Yuck.
John, I turned the camera off today.
It has semi stopped snowing.
We have between 12-15 inches around here.
Second big one of the season.
We got 6-8 inches in the Winston-Greensboro area. More if you were north of us near the Virginia state line...
It turned to sleet Saturday morning, and has been on/off sleet and snow tonight...

New location - new display. Looking forward to 2015 season!
I left Concord Friday night about 9:30pm and had about 3" of wet heavy snow. By the time I got home in South Charlotte there was none. Saturday morning we had about 1 1/2" of sleet and ice, just like coarse sand, and a light dusting of snow last night.
Looks like we could do it again next weekend by the forcast............
And on the 8th day, God created Christmas lights.
