    Default More Ice Again

Just four days past the first ice storm, we're headed for another one.

Expecting up to 1/2" here so I lowered my mega-trees again for the fifth time this year.

I think I'm going to wear the pullies out hoisting them up and down. The best thing is... they were lowered before the storm instead of during the storm.

    Keep it over there, William!

I'm running again after last weeks floods and wind damage. I would like to keep running until teardown starts on Dec 28 while I'm off from work!

William how much damage did the last ice storm cause you? Did you lose power? I see there are still areas without power. The weather just has not been good this year. At least we were lucky so far this year and did not get the ice. Every time we had rain or snow this season it has been on a weekend night, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day and now they are calling for more New Years Eve and New Years Day. Those are the days in previous years that we had the most visitors.

I finally got everything up and running Saturday night. Had to staple many lights back up on the fence and pull the trees up.

We were without power for about 2 1/2 hours Christmas day.

Overall... we had anywhere between 1/2" to 3/4" with 50 mph gusty winds. That's a recipe for disaster.

William I'm glad you were able to get back up and running without too much damage. We didnt have the ice or snow but the rain has been something. I guess this will be the last year of the PVC mega trees for me after the winds pulled the 2ft anchors out of the ground and let one fall. I will probably adopt your winched mega tree idea, that way if next year gets windy or icy I can winch the lights to the ground and be able to sleep that night.
And on the 8th day, God created Christmas lights.
