    Default time to start

this saturday may be when I start putting up the lights. Cold weather this saturday, a new box with 200 feet of c-9 light sockets, 200 c-9 light bulbs, and my shipments of vampire plugs from home depot.

Awesome Bert ! A man after my own heart. I have 384 C9s on the front window frames this year (14 channels). Plus another 180 C7s around my roof line (5 channels with one left, 3 top and one right).

All my new electric circuits are in place, wired and LIVE. I hope to finish all my new effects (this weekend), except for a complicated mounting for a couple of them that may take some time. I have started my sequences with the new channel layouts. And I will erect my Mega-Tree frame by next week.

I had a volunteer group of over a dozen people help me tear down last January. Now all of them plus a few more want to help pull everything out of storage and install lights on the house. So that party is scheduled for Nov 20th, with my wife and son helping me with wiring on the 20th and 21st. I am off work from Nov 24th until Dec 1st to finish the wiring, test the system, and light em up (about 6pm Dec 1st) ...

I have to make my new announcement for this year but if I don't get it done for Dec 1st I can catch up later with that one. The same with any new sequences. I will use last years, with enhancements at first and the new ones will come on line later if they are not ready.
    Thanks,

    Denny Cole

I WOULD have started on Monday....but we decided to put our home on the market beginning of October...so the realtor suggested I not do a show because of it...really bummin me out to be honest...AHhhhh bout to go nutz just thinking about it! I had a GREAT show planned out, welded my own 48" snowflakes...the works...now...they sit in storage.

IF ANYONE is in the Wilmington area..and needs help putting stuff up...PM me....might save my depressive state somewhat.

Getting started this weekend. Son is coming over to assist - plan to get big things out, including lights on the roof and on the house. Still have a few more controller setups to finish - things like new ends on Megatree controller and some new DC low voltage stuff.

Of course, there's still some sequencing to finish and tweak.

I'm getting excited too...I took down a big mamosa tree in the front yard last weekend because "it is growing over the roof and could crash down through and kill us all" and "it's getting sap all over the A/C unit and neighbors car". After we got it all cleaned up the wife said " this sure will make your lights look better...Busted! She loves me.

Deb said I did that to our front yard. The entire yard. Nope. It was overgrown and ugly. It is very pretty now (and can accommodate 2 megatrees).

I'm not starting until next Tuesday, races this weekend at TMS so that takes priority, (yes, I'm a redneck). Everything is down from the storage loft, had electricians here to mount all the sheet metal up in hubby's garage and had them help me since they were here anyway. Called my bucket truck guys, they're working in GA right now but will be back next week to put the lights up in the oak again. I bought 60 more 100 ct strands of each color for it, not sure how many I'll use, but it won't be the "Hula Tree" this year, we're going all the way to the top. I'll post pix later, more than likely Monday so don't hold your breath.

was riding thru k-ville tonight and noticed they had their christmas wreaths hanging on the light poles, and already lit.
was wondering if you had started putting up your lights

I can't wait to be in the position you guys are in!!! I don't have many lights and am hoping it won't take long to put them up. Then again, I still have to build 20 mini-trees, assemble at least 3 controllers, figure out where I'm getting power from, and sequence more than two songs... I'm a little behind schedule, I think...

Yeah, saw that they put up the wreaths in K'ville. Kinda early, but I guess they didn't want to do it in colder weather.

Wish it was going to be a little warmer this weekend, but we'll manage. I'm only putting up the big stuff this weekend. Stuff that 2 or more folks make it easier to do. Controllers probably won't go out for a week or so - still testing some stuff - putting LED strips on star frames, and of course, doing some sequencing.

You'll have to tell me where you're located, so I can come out and look!

I'm holding off until the 20th and 21st for putting controllers out. Concentrating on having everything built by then. Then make a nearly full time push until Dec 1st when the lights come on. It's been a BLAST watching my animator for the new effects. I need to start another post on how to handle the mighty minis in LOR S2 though .. I will open it now to solicit some help...

So you're bringing her to the TASL meeting on the 17th?

I wish our display would go up that fast. We started the end of August and hope to have it all up by Thanksgiving.

I saw your display a couple of years ago. I understand you having to start so early.
Right now, I am glad my display is not that big!!!
