    Default 16 Days Out

16 Days out and the computer models are forecasting another tropical system.

The error rate this far out is huge but I'm keeping an eye on the trend of the models to see if they keep this storm going.

Something to watch out for towards the weekend of the 25th.

Nah all I remember is hiding underneath the stairs in the closet listening to the wind rip and blow over trees.

    Chicken, lol.

Watching those same trees blow over here too. We had hurricane force winds at this elevation.

The southeast side of the mountains had all tree blown over and 15 inches of rain.

I was 8 years old and living in KY at that time, and I was absolutely fascinated by Hugo. First hurricane I actually tracked (haven't been many I've missed since).

A couple of the reasons that I was fascinated by him: I vacationed in Myrtle Beach in the summer of '88 (live there now), and vacationed in Hilton Head in the summer of '89.

That, and the fact I've always been fascinated by weather in general. Not real sure why I chose dramatic arts as my major in college instead...

I played soccer back in those days and had a tournament in Charleston not too long after Hugo, maybe the following year and we drove through Folly Beach and all the houses were smushed up against each other. It was unreal.
