I think I understand what you're saying. The CG-1500 cases have to be screwed open and closed. It doesn't have a clip to keep it closed. Am I correct? The data sheet says the connector passes an RJ45 cable. I was concerned that the connector end would have to be built to the cable and stay with that cable.

The 1500 case has a clip to keep it closed, but to ME, it's a PIA. The case can be screwed closed also using an F connector style nut, not supplied, with a special tool. It's just a "three handed operation for ME" to open the case when the clip is holding it closed. Probably very easy for someone younger. lol

The data sheet shows the style that I have with a 12" male pigtail molded onto the waterproof female. Using a 3/4" hole, the female end can be mounted to the box, as shown on the pdf at the bottom of page 2. The attached male end can then be plugged into the controller cards RJ485 data jacks and etc. From the outside, you slip the weatherseal pieces over your own cat5 RJ45 male end, plug into the case mounted female, then slide and screw everything to the female. Think 12" long cat5 extension cord, with the weaterproof female.

The data sheet is a little confusing on page 2 the picture with the green cat5 wire, that application is a pass through connection only, like the first link you posted. The parts are supplied to do that also, if you don't want to use the extension feature.

I'm just wanting to get away from having to open the 1500 box at all, since its a struggle for me, and be able to do all set up and tear down connections from outside the box.

(I have nerve degeneration in my hands and legs now, and I'm loosing at lot of dexterity with them)

The group buy ends in a few days. If you want to order the enclosures, now is the time. These enclosures are going to weigh a bunch. I hope my UPS delivery guy is different that Walter's.

I was just getting to check on if I need these, and checking the pricing...

I'll take 6. Not sure I'll use all of them but that way I'm covered.

Order has been placed. With luck they should be here for the welding workshop but I wouldn't count on it. When I called a couple weeks ago they said this item was backordered.

I was notified by Castle Wholesalers that the lights are out of stock and will require 3 to 4 weeks. But we knew that already.

I got a call from UPS that the floods will be delivered today if somebody is here to sign for it. Here is what they cost:

    Qty Name SKU Each Subtotal
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    34 REGENT MQF150 150W Decorative Halogen Floodlight, Bronze232MQF150
    $7.03 $239.02
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Subtotal $239.02
    Shipping: UPS Ground $26.01
    Tax Total $0.00
    Grand Total $265.03

Which means that each flood costs $7.80 each. So:
    Al 18 units $140.40
    Jack 4 units $31.20
    Denny 4 units $31.20
    Walter 2 units $15.60
    Mark 6 units $46.80

The floods are in my possession. I will try to deliver them to Denny and Walter tomorrow or in the next couple of days. I am super busy right now. Everybody else will be when you come to Raleigh or we make other arrangements.
