    Small update.

I priced out the terminal strips and resistors @ Mouser. It will be $1.52 (per kit) for the extra pieces, which are the resistors in the sizes that Frank recommends, and the 8 position terminal strip (actually 2 4 pos is cheaper).

There will be a slight additional charge to find some mini bags to sort the LED's. If you figure $.25 per kit for bags (haven't priced them yet), and PayPal fee, then we're close to $35 at the 30 kit level.

As a comparison, CeCe's posted quantity pricing for 20 kits @ 37.19 per kit. She only provides 2 values of resistors, so the colors may be slightly dimmer.

You guys still in for this at $35-36?

Hi Mark. Are you buying the same values resistors as CC-led or have you calculated the correct value using LEDs with more chips? Regardless, I need the LEDs and terminal strips. Could I up my order to 16? I don't know why I picked 15 when logically 16 would have been better.
    Thanks,
    Al

I'm in for whatever you decide.

As an opinion .. I prefer the best we can get with the Red intensity. I also prefer the Warm White.

So, do you think I should post this elsewhere, or do you know of some folks that might want to join?

I'm buying the values that Frank has listed. It really doesn't matter what values, tho, since Mouser carries most of the common values for 1W resistors, and once you hit the 100 qty, the price drops to 5 cents each.

    .

    Denny,

By using 16 of the red as opposed to only 12 of the other colors, the red should really pop.

I think you will want the 6 cool white and 6 warm white LED combination as originally spec'd. In my testing of the LEDs, the warm white (from CeCe's anyway) tend to be a bit on the yellow side. The 6 cool white combined with the 6 warm white tends to offset the harshness of the cool white, and balance out the yellowish of the warm white.

As John mentioned, the mix of cool white and warm white LEDs does a great job of giving a balanced white. The Warm White LEDs are more expensive than the rest, so going all warm would up the cost. I factored in 6 of each for each flood.

I'm getting the feeling that everyone that wants these has expressed an interest. I'm guessing that John and TGabriel have bought enough from CeCe that they don't need anymore. Walter, don't know if you want any, but now is the time...

Mouser has sold out of some of the 1W resistors at the $.05 price, but we should be able to find some at another place.

I plan to close this out by Easter, which is Apr 4. PCB boards should be shipping next week so folks will be ready to start building. I'm expecting a top price of $35.50 including fees, etc. based on the quantities. That's hand delivered to Raleigh or Charlotte.

    Mark,

I bought enough LEDs for the first 4 floods, and I'll order the other 4 sets from CeCe when I get back from Las Vegas, I certainly have enough projects in the works already. But I would need them before Charlotte though. So don't worry about me.
