    Default Hey Brad

I need a huge inflatable Santa with a toy sack. Maybe 10 or 12 feet. I found one at Holiday Inflatables. Can you think of a couple more sources for inflatables?

    Thanks,
    Al

Big ones are hard to find anymore. I would check Lowe's or HD. I don't have one myself that big.

Home Depot and Sears had the best deal. Both had free shipping but a slightly higher price. The end result was about $13 cheaper. Go figure. Thanks again Larry. This thing is 4 feet on the base and 12' tall. Wow. I hope it blows up quickly as it only get used for 1 song.

Al, you could always "graft" on and extra blower.

Larry, I guess you mean cut a hole in Santa and sew in another blower? I have a couple blowers from another couple inflatables that might work. I remember seeing replacement blowers on a website somewhere but can't remember where. The inflatable will arrive on Monday, and I'll time how long it takes to inflate then decide if another blower is necessary. Kevin, The Demanicured Elk, is working on a "commercial" for me that will play giving enough time for Santa to inflate. Kevin came up with a really cute idea for a commercial today that involves a Bob Rivers song with a voice over. I used Manger 6 by Bob Rivers a few years ago as a commercial and it was really cute. I think Kevin might sell "commercials" in the future. Santa better have a big ole blower attached.

I will be curious to see if he'll come up straight without manual assistance.

I putz with my blowups for the whole darned month just to keep them up straight. The tall ones are the stinkers. The wide ones are not too bad. But if it rains (or wet snow) you gotta get it up and keep it up. Or it will collect a lot of water.

Walter and I turn the inflatables on during the day and dry them out/test them to make sure they come on during the show properly. We had no problem using 3 large inflatables the last time.

I had a 6' snowman which we called wimpy because he never really inflated totally with the factory blower. As you probally know snow globes look nice but they never work properly. So I took the blower off of the large snow globe and put it on wimpy... wimpy no more! He inflated in about 5 seconds

That's great idea Larry! I think I have roughly 10 blowups, so there is always one (or more) of them giving problems. When it was raining or slowing we left them running all the time. And <yes> two of the were globes that always seemed to have issues with the foam pellets or moisture or both. I want most of the blowups gone by next year, but I may keep my Santa band, Santa Helicopter and two of the tall ones (a Santa and a Snowman) ..

For the new guys - - I have all the bulbs removed from the blowup internal wiring, and fitted with male plugs. They are tied into controller channels in groups, to make sure they are part of the show ...
    Thanks,

Just leave them inflated and cut the cord from the fan and plug it in to your controler and just leave the fan going all the time. If you are using it for just one song I would use x-10 and have it kick on atleast a minute before the song.

Santa came by FedEx today. I plugged him in and he is cute. He is a Gemmy 12' Santa with Bag. I had to take him outside as my ceiling isn't tall enough. He took 3 minutes to inflate and was rock solid. I plan to add another blower to make Santa faster to inflate as I need 45 seconds or so. This thing really is cute. His base must be 4' square. We found a Santa inflatable of the same size at a store here in Raleigh that wasn't quite as cute and detailed but was 1/2 the cost. Also the blower on mine is much larger too. Thank you again Larry for pointing me in the right direction.
