RDS stands for Radio Data System. It is the protocol in which text can be sent through a FM radio transmitter, made by EDM in this case, and will scroll across car radio displays that can handle it. My truck has a RDS capable radio but my other cars do not. Some people use RDS to send the song titles and other information to the cars in their car queue.
