    Default Zara Radio

I use Zara Radio when my show is off.

So what are your tips/tricks using Zara?

I play rap music for the first 30 minutes after the show to get them to leave quickly. Then I play polka music till midnight in case they like rap music. From midnight till the next show it is The Carpenters, Air Supply, Boyz 2 Men, Kenny G (I know that is cruel and unusual punishment), Donny Osmond, and my personal favorite Benny Lava:

I figure the music keeps the thieves away. The spelling in the video frame was not mine.

Carl if you are using Vixen it already has a feature in it that will allow you to program a playlist that you can use before the show and it will run till showtime when it will stop and start the show. I haven't used it but I think Wayne has.

I had this post on LOR about text to voice that I use with my homeautomation server

Yes, it is a script and for the weather text to speech I use the voice Kate from Neospeech, and their voice Paul for weather alerts. This file could be used by Zara.

Other events use voices from Acapela, Heather for announcing caller ID info, and Mike for alerts of someone in the driveway or front porch, voices from AT&T (Julia) for event reminders, etc

Is this what you were remembering?

I use voices from three different companies. Lot's of different voices coming out of speakers all over my house, (sometimes I can't get them out of my head)

Yep, Vixen has a built in player. You can schedule it to play when you need it.
It also has a timer for when your show ends for it to start (for those that do a show at the top and bottom of every hour). You can also have it to play a narative (song/voiceover) at certain intervals if you wish ( Like "The show will start shortly" ect... ) It will play the songs you load in order, or will do it shuffle style.

    Thanks David and Wayne

I'm aware of this but I'm like some of the features of Zara Radio am looking at all angles to play Music Before, in between and After the show.

You can also use a schedule file in Zara to start and stop. I usually have mine start at 5pm and stop at 6PM when my show starts. What's nice is when it comes time to shut off it fades the song out no sudden endings. I just set up the playlist to end with an instrumental.
Demented? yes but in the best possible sense.

I know this thread is a year old, but I have a new question for it. Here is the situation - just updated my show box - installed Zara Radio on it - since i already use it year around on my transmitter located in my garage I know how it works. Here is the problem, my new show box is Windows 7 64 bit - zara works fine, but when i tried to install Weather Watcher Live - it wont run on win 7 without buying the software on an annual basis. Was trying to find a free weather updater that will export the necessary file (HTML) so Zara will announce the temp as well as the time.

    Any ideas?
